April 23th, Jupiter, Venus, and the End of Rome.

Jupiter and Venus by Max Klinger

It's April 23, oh my.  In Roman Paganism, today was the festival of Jupiter and Venus.  That's right, Jupiter (sometimes referred to as Zeus historically), the god of sky and thunder, controller of Roman fate, and king of all gods; yes, the very top of the gods list.  Well, the published gods list for within the circle of gods there has always been another god, the unseen god, some call him the Demiurge creator god, I just call him, little "g" god.

Not only was Jupiter the god of lightning and thunder bolts, his was also known as the god of oaths, and therefore was summoned in name for wedding ceremonies.  That's right boys and girls, there was a thing called holy matrimony long before the advent of Christianity, which is no big deal other than the fact that they want you to believe there was nothing before them, and thereby are refusing us our existence in history.  The bastards!

And Venus, the goddess of love and fertility.  The beauty of the beauty.  The other half of the hidden little "g" god who allows us to admire her beauty in times of want.  And if Jupiter is the god of marriage, and he is, then Venus is the goddess of the sexual pleasure to be afforded the newlywed couple later that night.  Born from the turbulent waters of a storm, she came to earth with the loveliest of fragrances which can still be enjoyed those moments just before a rain when the ground opens up to receive her nourishment from the gods, the fragrance of pleasure.

And when the two gods were celebrated together on this day in ancient Rome, there was wine, dancing, laughter, heated discussions, pantomiming, and, of course, posturing, which always led the chamber.

Is this not the reason that on this day in the year 410 of our calendar, that the Visigoths used this day to attack Rome and bring an end to our empire?

I say yes, for it is now written.

Democrats and Republicans Once Agreed on Earth Day. We Need That Spirit Today. Stop The LIes.

Gaylord Nelson on the right beside President Kennedy.
To get anything done in this the world it takes compromise.  That thing we no longer have in today's politics.  That evil thing that now divides the world between the Closed Minded Nationalist and Free Thinking Idealist.  Case in point, today is Earth Day, and it is a day we owe to compromise for it took both Democrats and Republicans to make Earth Day happen.  The idea was planted by Gaylord Nelson -- the great, great, grand son of the founder of The Republican Party --  when he suggested the idea to President John F Kennedy and the president agreed with him so much that he began talking about "ecology -- as it was known back then" -- in his coast-to-coast speeches; this resonated so well with the public that in 1970 the republican president Richard Nixon enacted the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which gave us the cleaner water and air we have today.

Unfortunately, many politicians, mostly Republicans, don't support the EPA because they see it as a hindrance to business.   And so our planet continues to get warmer, our ice caps melt, and mother earth is reaching her breaking point.

I grew up in the 60's before the EPA.  I lived in Detroit and could taste the smog in the air.  I swam with rolls of dead fish in the Detroit river.  I witnessed grease fires on the water from the standing toxic waste dumped upstream from one of the auto companies.  With the EPA, this was cleaned up with regular inspections.  If the company hadn't cleaned up their mess from the year before, they were fined.  The only way to get a capitalist leader to do anything for the good of the whole.

Today we are seeing results from the president Obama's Clean Air initiatives which forced the auto manufactures to reduce carbon emissions to a point the Republican taking heads cried would destroy the economy.  It hasn't.  And today with all the electric and hybrid cars on the streets from the incentives Obama gave them, pollution is down.

This is the good news for Earth Day this year.

Now for the bad news: Idiots like Michele Bachmann are still out there.  People who will lie about facts with no regards of the outcome.  Case in Point: In April of 2009,  Bachmann delivered this message from the House of Representatives

"As a matter of fact, carbon dioxide is portrayed as harmful!   But there isn't one study that can be produced that shows carbon dioxide is a harmful gas.  There isn't one study because carbon dioxide is not a harmful gas--it is a harmless gas.  Carbon dioxide is natural.  It is not harmful.  It is part of earth's life cycle."

Michele Bachmann: Carbon Dioxide denier.

Do I even need to comment on this?  For those of you who believe her statement here, go put your face next to the tail pipe of a car and take a few breaths: it's a fact you will die if you don't stop.

Update:  Michele Bachmann is now part of the "Donald Trump didn't lose the election" lie.  Has she no decency? This lie is threatening our form of an elective government.  And who benefits from this?  Well, in my humble opinion, Satan, the Demiurge, Vladimir Putin -- what did you expect? This is an esoteric blog.

Happy Earth Day Folks.  Be kind to the planet today.

Hamsa to the Rescue, and the Evils of April 20th.

In 1999 on this day, April 20th, the world changed due to the mass killing of 13 people by two teenage boys who then killed themselves at Columbine High School in Colorado.   Before this incident, schools had had their violence, other mass school shootings, rapes, kidnappings, etc., but none of them had the gravitas of the Columbine massacre, at least not in popular culture.  And it was this popularization of the killings that led to more killings as kids did it for fame.  Yes, fame, that second favorite tool of the Demiurge who owns this world and all things in it.  His first favorite tool?  Religion.

With the Columbine killings, division between the rich and poor has become more pronounced than ever; the rich, backed by profiteering churches and egotistic politicians, have used the school killings as a need for more programs called vouchers which takes public school money from our kids and diverts it to divisive private, privileged, and religious school; and all at the delight of the demiurge as 'We the People' become, 'We the Privileged' -- knights in the demiurge's army.

Yes, I hear what you're saying: "Without a healthy pubic school system we're fucked, okay, but what is esoteric about that?" Well, my dear initiates, as with most things esoteric if you open your eyes to see, you will see the demiurge's markings, for he leaves his evil clues for us in all that he does; for it is His way.  And the Columbine Massacre is no different, for example, in 1896 on this day the first commercial movie was played at Bial's Music Hall in New York City by a Vitascope projector.   A few years later on this day, 1909, Mary Pickford, the first Hollywood mega movie star, starts her first motion picture job, and by 1916 she is the sweetheart idle of the flicks.  Then, in 1926 on this day, Western Electric and Warner Bros. announces Vitaphone, the process of adding bullet sounds to the movies, and of course, in 1999, two teenagers with guns act out their favorite scenes from that year's box-office smash hit, The Matrix, a movie where a man in a trench coat, as the Columbine Boys were wearing, shoots the most people in a movie up to that time.  And all for fame, or better said, the demiurge.

The final fact to consider is that all this happened on the same day that  in 1889, the demiurge's favorite follower was born: Adolph Hitler, which will always make April 20th a special day for, all things evil.

So, what to do?  Well, the answer is simple, Hamsa.  That's right, you can either go into hiding and get rid of all your earthy belongings and try to go unnoticed by the demiurge as monks and priest have done for centuries, or, you can do as all religions, mystics, and mediums have done since the beginning of time, find a protective charm, and as charms go there is no one more useful against the demiurge than the Hamsa, which means five in Arabic, but predates the advent of Islam by thousands of years, and is still used for protection for those wanting immediate results.  In ancient Mesopotamia, it was the hand of Ishtar, to the early Christian's, it was the Hand of Mary or Eye of Providence which can still be seen on the US dollar bill; and to the Hebrews, it was the "strong hand of God," as pointed out in Deuteronomy 5:15.

The word Khamsa means 'five,' for the number of our fingers.  Lucky five was widely worn as a pendant, or worked into jewellery and fabrics as a decorative feature, and this highly stylized hand was believed to ward off the 'evil eye.'

It is the most common symbol from old times, but one that is hardly used today, and as a result my friend, evil has run rampant with control over our governments and religions.  So create yours today, or if you prefer, place your hand over mine and make a wish.  Not only will your wish come true, the evilness around you will run in fear as it as always done from our first encounter with light.

It's a Mad, Mad, World. Ezra Pound: The first QAnon Member on this Day in History.

It's a mad, mad, world.  Today, April 14th, let's all stop taking anything serious.  We have no control.  The mad men of the world are still in control today as they were on this day in 1521 when Marin Luther gave a speech stating he was living on a diet of worms and was branded an outlaw by the Mega Church of that day -- much as I am today -- and went into hiding.  That's pretty "mad."

Lies can be mad too for on this day in 1943, Soviet Russian radio propaganda blamed their massacre of thousands of Polish Army officers on the German Gestapo.  In 1990 Russia came clean and admitted they were lying and had slaughtered the prisoners for safe keeping.  Today, the leader of Russia says he will fight a kinder war in Ukraine, of course, this was after the slaughter of another town where more civilians were killed.  Some things never change.

In 1966 on this day Communist China goes public with Mao's Cultural Revolution in an official news-paper calling for the stop of those in power who want to take the capitalistic route in trade with the Western World.  Silly, Mao, becoming a capitalist country was the greatest step for despot societies as proven by today's China and Russian oligarchies who launder their money through American politicians.

Yes, a mad, mad, world.  Oh, maybe the craziest thing about this day is that in 1958 the first member of the QAnon movement, American poet Ezra Pound, who had supported the despot Mussolini during WWII, was released from a Washington, D.C. state hospital for the criminally insane.  That's what they did with quacks back then.  Now, we make them world leaders.

Merry Easter: the alchemist resting point. A video poem for the whole family.

The spring equinox has always been the day where light and dark come back into balance, and our instincts call for us to go outside and dance with our arms in the air rejoicing in the return of balance.  To those of us with eyes to see, it is the perfect mean, the day of pi, the alchemist resting point.

In ancient Sumerian times, they called it the Descent of Inanna, the heavenly goddess who descended into the underworld only to be brought back to life three days later by Enki, the pagan god of heaven.

And even then, we danced with our arms out towards the heavens, the perfect mean.

Then came Ostara, the Spring Fertility goddess associated with bunny rabbits and fertility eggs.

And still, we danced with our arms out towards the heavens, the day of pi.

Today, they call it the resurrection of the anointed.

But still, we dance with our arms out towards the heavens, the alchemist resting point.

My Day Before Easter Sermon

Ah yes, it is Easter, that day each year as a kid that my parents bought me new clothes to wear to church.  I thought then buying new clothes for Easter was something I would do forever, but then as I got older I realized I only got new clothes because I had outgrown the clothes from last year, just as I would one day outgrow my the faith of my youth.

My parents weren't very religious, in fact, we only went to church on Easter unless there was a funeral.  On the drive to the church on Easter my father would complain about the nice car the preacher bought with the hard-earned money the neighborhood people gave him; then, after the service on the way to have a nice Easter lunch at a restaurant -- the only time of the year we ate out as a family --  my father would complain about the dollar he put in the collection plate.  The dollar he would complain about all year long anytime religion was brought up.

That Easter Sunday visit to the church each year made me a spiritual seeker, and I began to go to church on my own more than just on Easter, and so was initiated in that monolithic god teachings.  As I grew older, however, and I began to look at those teachings critically it became clear to me that something was amidst.  This put me on my spiritual journey today that has grown from a monolithic faith, to Gnosticism, paganism, and eventually, a Buddhist faith where we honor the heavenly deities.  If you have been following my blog for sometime then you know that I believe the monolithic churches came along at the time true seekers were getting closer to the spiritual answers than ever before with the likes of  Pythagoras, Plato, Hermes Trismegistus, etc.. the age of enlightenment which took us out of the spiritual dark ages and promised a better world with fewer wars and prejudices than we have today from the monolithic warring gods who are ruling the world today.

Still, it is Eater and time to rejoice spring, a new growing season for plants, people, and beliefs.  The time of year to replace the old things we've outgrown.  And so I ask you, brothers and sisters, what have you outgrown this year?  What is holding you back?  What is keeping you from the altar today?  Can you feel my message?  If so, come on down,  the heavenly deities are calling.

Okay, not sure where that came from.  But if you want to put a dollar in the plate, you can do that here

Speaking of the Deity most will be honoring this Good Friday.

This is a great time of year for spring celebrations, this Good Friday before Easter is no exception, a real biggie! Of course, the spring celebration of which I speak of is none other than the celebration of the goddess Tellus, Terra Mater, or to you and me, Mother Earth.

That's right, in honor of Tellus on this day each year a pregnant cow was sacrificed and the unborn calf burned in a bonfire to ensure the fertility of the crops.  I know it sounds gruesome, but compared to today's fast-food burger feast being held 365 days a year around the clock, one pregnant calf a year is a little thing.

The purpose of the sacrifice was to assure the fertility of the planted grain already growing in the womb of Mother Earth in the guise of Tellus, to whom the sacrifice was offered.  Along with the pregnant cow being sacrificed, the unborn calf was burned in a bonfire at the wild party afterwards -- that's just how we pagans did it back then.

Another important thing to know is that this celebration was run by woman nuns, or Vestals, and as Shirley Two Feathers tells us on her Pagan calendar: the unborn calf is a liminal or mediating being; not yet born, but living; not a full-fledged victim, but sacrificed. The role of the Vestals emphasizes their importance in linking through the ritual reuse of elements the Earth’s fertility, the health and safety of the flocks, and the security of the city, including and especially its military security against invasion.

A similar spring festival in China was witnessed in 1804 by the British ambassador to China, John Barrow.  At the temple of Earth, a large porcelain cow was carried in procession then shattered to reveal several small cow-images inside.  These were distributed among the people as tokens of a good growing season.  Fowler speculated that the Chinese rite was in origin an animal sacrifice similar to that of the Fordicidia.

Today, we don't kill cows anymore, but we do do something good for our Earth Mother like plant a tree, or pick up some trash.  She'll reward us for our effort.  Try it and let me know your outcome.

Conversely, on this day of the year in the city of Kawasaki, Japan, the ancient deities associated with sexuality and human reproduction give their sacred blessings and encouragement when evoked to couples who wed late in life, or men like me who suffer declining potency -- but I'm not complaining: I am coming back as a woman, it is a bitch being a man who cries at weddings.

The Sinking of a Russian Ship on this day Means We Are Winning....

In today's news, the Ukraine military is saying that it struck the Russian battleship named Moskva with a Neptune anti-ship missile.  This is so esoteric that it has the little hairs on the back of my neck  standing up.  First, as you may or may not know, Neptune is the Roman god of the sea, and its moons are named for various lesser sea gods and nymphs in Greek mythology.  In astrology, Neptune is the psychic planet of ideals, intuition, spirituality and compassion, the domain of dreams and delusions.  It is the "dreams" and "delusions" part I find so fascinating for as I alluded to yesterday in my FDR Peace Speech From the Grave post: most of us are dreamers of peace and we can win the fight; that's the "dream" part, and the "delusion" part?  Vladimir Putin thinking he can defeat a country through violence and murder.  It won't happen.  The will of the majority of the people will always win in the end.  And the fact that this is news on April 14th is more proof, you see, the coinkydinks from the sea gods are speaking, and I believe they are telling us all to remain strong and continue the fight for freedom, justice, and truth for all.  Don't believe me?  Open your eyes and read the signs.

ON this day in the year 1588 Spain's Invincible Armada, then the largest fleet in the world, was defeated in a matter of hours.

ON this day in the year 1628 Sweden's most powerful warship, the Vasa, also known as Invincible, sank on its maiden voyage.  It never made it out of Stockholm's harbor.

And if that isn't enough to get you to open your eyes, how about this, on this day in 1912, the world's safest and most luxurious ocean liner, humbly named Titanic, hit an iceberg and went down.

But wait, there's more: on this day in India, Maryamma (or Mariamne), the Hindu goddess of the sea is honored with a sacred festival which begins annually on this day.

Peace out, here is a shorter version of FDR's Speech From the Grave

Franklin D. Roosevelt's Message From the Grave

The Speech Franklin D. Roosevelt planned on giving on this day in, April 13th, 1945, was a message of hope through science, peace, and understanding.  Here is the speech we couldn't hear then, hopefully we can hear it now.

Franklin D. Roosevelt's Last Message to the American People

AMERICANS ARE GATHERED TOGETHER this evening in communities all over the country to pay tribute to the living memory of Thomas Jefferson—one of the greatest of all democrats; and I want to make it clear that I am spelling that word “democrats” with a small “d.”

I wish I had the power, just for this evening, to be present at all of these gatherings.

In this historic year, more than ever before, we do well to consider the character of Thomas Jefferson as an American citizen of the world.

As Minister to France, then as our first Secretary of State, and as our third President, Jefferson was instrumental in the establishment of the United States as a vital factor in international affairs.

It was he who first sent our Navy into far distant waters to defend our rights. And the promulgation of the Monroe Doctrine was the logical development of Jefferson's far-seeing foreign policy.

Today this Nation, which Jefferson helped so greatly to build, is playing a tremendous part in the battle for the rights of man all over the world.

Today we are part of the vast Allied force—a force composed of flesh and blood and steel and spirit—which is today destroying the makers of war, the breeders of hatred, in Europe and in Asia.

In Jefferson's time our Navy consisted of only a handful of frigates headed by the gallant U. S. S. Constitution—Old Ironsides —but that tiny Navy taught nations across the Atlantic that piracy in the Mediterranean—acts of aggression against the peaceful commerce and the enslavement of their crews was one of those things which, among neighbors, simply was not done.

Today we have learned in the agony of war that great power involves great responsibility. Today we can no more escape the consequences of German and Japanese aggression than could we avoid the consequences of attacks by the Barbary corsairs a century and a half before.

We, as Americans, do not choose to deny our responsibility.

Nor do we intend to abandon our determination that, within the lives of our children and our children's children, there will not be a third world war.

We seek peace—enduring peace. More than an end to war, we want an end to the beginnings of all wars—yes, an end to this brutal, inhuman, and thoroughly impractical method of settling the differences between governments.

The once powerful malignant Nazi state is crumbling. The Japanese war lords are receiving, in their own homeland, the retribution for which they asked when they attacked Pearl Harbor.
But the mere conquest of our enemies is not enough.

We must go on to do all in our power to conquer the doubts and the fears, the ignorance, and the greed, which made this horror possible.

Thomas Jefferson, himself a distinguished scientist, once spoke of the brotherly spirit of science, which unites into one family all its votaries of whatever grade, and however widely dispersed throughout the different quarters of the globe.

Today, science has brought all the different quarters of the globe so close together that it is impossible to isolate them one from another.

Today we are faced with the preeminent fact that, if civilization is to survive, we must cultivate the science of human relationships—the ability of all peoples, of all kinds, to live together and work together, in the same world, at peace.

Let me assure you that my hand is the steadier for the work that is to be done, that I move more firmly into the task, knowing that you—millions and millions of you—are joined with me in the resolve to make this work endure.

The work, my friends, is peace. More than an end of this war—an end to the beginnings of all wars. Yes, an end, forever, to this impractical, unrealistic settlement of the differences between governments by the mass killing of peoples.

Today, as we move against the terrible scourge of war—as we go forward toward the greatest contribution that any generation of human beings can make in this world—the contribution of lasting peace, I ask you to keep up your faith. I measure the sound, solid achievement that can be made at this time by the straight-edge of your own confidence and your resolve. And to you, and to all Americans who dedicate themselves with us to the making of an abiding peace, I say:
The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today. Let us move forward with strong and active faith.

Mr. Roosevelt's final message was prepared on the morning of April 12, a few hours before his death, to be delivered by radio on the night of April 13 to Democratic banquets and meetings throughout the country commemorating the birthday of Thomas Jefferson, founder of the Democratic Party and author of the Declaration of Independence.

The Goddess Diana

Today, Initiates, let's look at one of my favorite heavenly deities, the goddess Diana, for in Roman times on this day (April 11th), it was customary to bake bread in her honor.   Yes, like the bread used in today's popular churches, worshipers of Diana broke bread in her honor,  and it sometimes had a cross on it too, hmmmm, which is no biggie because throughout history, gods, goddesses, and their ways have been shared.  For example, Diana was actually Artemis to the Greeks before she was Diana to that Romans, that's just how the gods and goddesses swing.

Like the Greek goddess of hunting, Artemis, Diana was also the goddess of hunting, and so for luck before the hunt, families of the hunters would bake bread in her honor; if the hunt was successful, the families would sing praises to Diana as they dressed their kill, and that evening, they would party like it was 1999 -- BC of course.   Wine, costumes, and if the guards weren't looking, a little toot.  Of course, like today there were those more intellectual types who would take mushrooms and veg' out in the bathhouses, but that's a story for another time.

As with all religions, worship of Diana changed over time and so she went from the goddess of the hunt, to the goddess of chastity, fertility, and the moon.  Her services were usually held in open-air temples, or altars in the forest.  Her followers became so popular in size that she even has an honorable mention in Acts 19 of today's Christian bible, where it is stated that people "...rioted in Diana's defense, shouting 'Great is Diana of the Ephesians!'."  Brings tears to my eyes.

The thing that led to the destruction of Diana's church, however, wasn't that she was so popular with the people, but that she was popular with the slaves who could find sanctuary in her temples, and so would not be returned to their owners like the other faiths would do; which, the powers that be, both secular and religious, could not have for one second; this, I believe in my humble opinion, is the reason Diana was never recognized as a Roman deity like Jupiter, Apollo, or Juno -- to name a few.

Yes, Diana was originally the hunting goddess associated with wild animals and woodlands, who later became a moon goddess of the people which made her the emblem of chastity.  Oak groves were especially sacred to her, and she was praised in poetry for her strength, athletic grace, purity, distinct beauty, and hunting skill.

Finally, as with all of our heavenly deities of our past, the free and open worship of Diana ended by the hands of the Demiurge followers who raided and destroyed her temples led by Saints such as John Chrysostom in the early fifth century, which was recorded in history as a "peaceful" conversion.  It wasn't, it was a violent sadistic act in the name of their god which sent us running to the woods for safety.  The place we remain today.

Cybele, Megalesia, and Tesitcles on an April 10th.

It is a beautiful April 10th Day here in Dallas, Texas, and as I do every April 10th, I got up to watch the sun dance in a bowl of water, for on this day each year in ancient Celtic times, it is what the Celts did.  I am not sure why they did this, but I assume it had something to do with the Goddess of Healing, Bau, the mother of Ea, who was honored each year on this day in ancient Babylonia with a sacred religious festival called The Day of Bau.  Oh, yeah, and Bau was originally the Goddess of the Dog and so a dog would be sacrificed in honor of the Bau, but after the dogs became part of the family, the celebration changed to the a festival of healing because of the healing qualities of a dog lick.

Cybele

On this day in ancient Rome, the final day of Megalesia was celebrated with a sacred horse race.  The Megalesia Festival went from April 4th to April 10th, and was a celebration for the Great Mother of the Gods, Cybele -- ouch, yes, the goddess that was honored on The Day of Blood by priest cutting off their testicles in honor of her love for Testis, as I told you in a previous post.  Of course, as with most of the other pagan celebrations this one too was secularized into a sport for the very wealthy, but it still carries the sacred overtones of Megalesia in its title "the sport of kings."

There's where I'll leave you today boys and girls.  I'll make notes of the day and tell you what the effects of watching dancing sun light in a bowl of water has on me.

Esoteric Message for April 9th: You Are God.

April 9th, what a day, what a day.  Did you know that the father of the computer age was born on this day in 1919, no it wasn't Bill Gates or Steve Jobs.  It was John Presper Eckert, Jr.

In 1946 Eckert and John W. Mauchly unveiled ENIAC, the first feneral-purpose electronic digital computer.  It weighed 30 tons; filled an entire room; and used some 18,000 vacuum tubes, 70,000 resistors, and 10,000 capacitors.  They began the work in 1943 at the University of Pennsylvania for the U.S government, and by December 1945 the machine solved the first problem on the U.S. government's mind.   What do you think it was?  Hunger? Environment?  Medicine?  No, it was the f*(king hydrogen bomb.  That's right, that's what the government wanted calculations for to ensure the computer age started with a big prick-sounding bang.

Statue at Lin Moniang Park in Tainan
Food for thought:  if the U.S. had been a matriarchy society rather than a patriarchy society, do you really think a bomb would have been our first calculation request?  Of course not.  It would have been something like solving world hunger or achieving world peace.  Thank god the age of matriarchy has come with the Age of Aquarius. -- in case you forgot, the Age of Aquarius is the age of love and understanding, and is feminine, where as the Age of Pieces, which we are now leaving,  is the age of spirituality, fire, isolation, war, greed, and hunger.  Esoterist like myself believe this is why we have today's Cultural Wars from bigots and racist holding onto their God Given Masculine Picies power of greed and separation as we usher in the inclusive, humanistic, Feminine Aquarius and her open waters to put down their false teachings and say "no" to their materialistic Satanism.  Maybe, I am just thinking out loud here, but, things are getting better.

Case in point, just a few years ago on this day in 2011, the population of Iceland said no for the second time to the International Monetary Fund -- in case you don't know, the International Monetary Fund does to countries what student debt does to you and me: it keeps us down and working for the man. There, I said it.  They lend money to starving countries who remain indebted to them forever.  This was another conservative solution to "helping countries pull themselves up by their own bootstraps," which was all done in the name of more tax cuts for the wealthy and profits for the bankers.

The Fund and the European Union had decided that Iceland's three hundred twenty thousand inhabitants should be liable for the bankruptcy of its bankers, for which each and every Icelander owed a foreign debt of twelve thousand euros.

Yes, socialism in reverse, which fortunately for us all was rejected by the Icelanders who said: "The debt is  not our debt.  Why should we pay it? Go f&*k yourself!"  I added the "go f&*k yourself, but the sentiment was there.

In this world controlled by greed and Satan's Demiurge Knights, this small island lost in the waters of the North Atlantic stood up to greed and tyranny.  Which is made more interesting by the fact that in ancient times on this day, April 9th, Icelanders celebrated the Goddess A-Ma (Matzu).  Yes, the guardian of the sea and protector of all fishermen and sailors, and they did this with offerings of fresh seafood and flowers as an offering on their altars, for you see, everyone had an altar in their homes before the churches required you to use their altars.  So if you have an altar today, offer something to A-Ma, and maybe, just maybe, you'll catch the Icelander courage to tell the money changer: go f&*k yourself.

why not.

The Esoteric Value of April 8th.

 Ah yes, April 8th, day 98 of the year, 9 + 8 = 17, 1 + 7 = 8.  A perfect day.

According to the I Ching, 8 is closeness and togetherness; the 8th card of the Tarot is Strength with the keywords of inner-balance and control; and in numerology, 8 is one of the most desired numbers for it is the symbol of abundance, wealth, and achievement.  In some traditions, like Chinese numerology, the number eight is considered lucky -- so add "8" to your Chinese lucky numbers of "1,3,7" for this year -- which is why 8 is often a sought out number for special dates in China.

The Esoteric Value of April 8th can be best seen in some of the historical events that have happened on this day.  Take for example, in 563 BCE, according to Buddhist tradition, Gautama Buddha was born in the kingdom of Sakya near the modern Indian-Nepal border.  Son of the king, he was named Prince Siddhartha but gave up his wealth and position after seeing others suffer, and the rest is history.

In 1861 on this day, Austria grants basic rights to Protestants.  That's right, the Catholics decided to be tolerant of the other Christian faith and together they are one -- I think this is a good thing.

In this same spirit of Religious Freedom, on this day in 1994 a group of Pagans carrying placards, banners, and streamers paraded joyously in Gainesville Florida.  They praised the Mother Goddess and invited all to celebrate the beauty of life.  The focus of this Freedom of Religion Parade was to highlight the religious diversity of the community and to foster tolerance.

Ommmmmmm.... Rip Cobain.
On the other side of the country in 1994 while the Pagans were celebrating, an artist had had enough so took his own life.  The artist?... Kurt Cobain.  Yes, the artist who played in a band called Nirvana ends his life on the same day Buddha was born.  Coinkydink?  Maybe, but the years do speak for themselves, for both the year Buddha was born, 563, and the year Cobain died, 1994, have the same nemerological value of 5, and "5" as any educated flea will tell you, is the number of "The Seeker."

You can't make this shit up, or can you?
