Mexican USA war and baby jesus

"We struck at Pullman because we were without hope," says one of the participants in the nationwide Pullman Car Strike that begins on this day in 1894.  George Pullman, owner of a luxurious "sleeping car" for trains,  enacted a fierce, paternalistic control over his workers, working them 16 hours a day and demanding exorbitant rent in the company town.  In the depression of 1893 wages were cut 25-40 percent, but the rents stayed the same.  Earlier this month a group of workers had implored Pullman to redress the situation; he fired three of them.  Gatling guns and federal troops crushed the strike in midsummer.

In 1821, after an eleven-year struggle, Mexico finally won her independence from Spain, ending three centuries of colonial rule.  Mexico at that time was made up of modern-day Mexico, as well as land that is now California, New Mexico, and Texas.  finding it difficult to control the borders of the country from the capital in Mexico City --without a wall that is-- the government allowed US immigrants to settle in the sparsely populated land.  These immigrants, calling themselves Texans, became disillusioned with the Mexican government because, first, it insisted on Catholicism being the state religion, second, it had a policy of settling Spanish peoples in Texas and, third, it abolished slavery.  When the US offered to buy Texas, Mexico said, "No."  And it is here our story begins:  James Polk, 11th President of the United States and his Trump-sized lie; or: How President Polk manipulated Mexico into a war they knew they couldn't win.

Mexico knew it could not win a war with the US.  They had just won their independence from Spain and was still feeling those monetary pains, as well as, just didn't have the number of weapons or soldiers that the US had, and so, any war with the US would have been crazy.   So, how did they end up in a war with US?

False Flag.

To begin with, Texas was still on Mexican soil.  Santa Anna had signed a treaty with the early Texans for personal gain, when he never had the authority or permission from the Mexican government to do.  It is kind of like what the treaty President Obamma did with Iran and how the Republican's in congress now say it isn't a big thing to reneged on now because Congress didn't approve it, and as you know, we did back out and Iran is making weapons again.  President Polk knew this when he sent a small troop of US soldiers led by Ulyssess S. Grant,  into the territory riding high in their horse on a "expedition."   Of course, the larger Mexican army there fired on them and a few soldiers were killed and Polk had his "False Flag" to start a war with Mexico.

As Ulysses S. Grant would recall some years later:  "We were sent to provoke a fight, but it was essential that Mexico should commence it."

A few days later, President Polk gave his False Flag speech:

The cup of forbearance had been exhausted even before the recent information from the frontier of the Del Norte (Rio Grande).  But now, after reiterated menaces, Mexico has passed the boundary of the United States, has invaded our territory and shed American blood upon the American soil.  She has proclaimed that hostilities have comme3nced, and that the two nations are now at war.

In the end, based on this lie, the US got what it wanted:  Texas, New Mexico, Utah, and California, and the map of the USA looks as it does today.

So, boys and girls, next time you hear Donald Trump yell, "Build That Wall,"  thank baby jesus Mexico never did when we were invading their land.

Sad but true.

In German and Swiss folklore, this date marked the first of three feast days of Eisheilige (Ice Saint Days), honoring the saints Mamertius, Pancratius, and Servcais.  These three were known as the Three Chilly Saints because their feast days were most likely to bring a late frost.  Traditionally, it was not safe to plant until the icemen were gone.

Student groups across German carried out a series of book burnings on this day in 1933.  The largest group was 40,000 people who gathered to hear Joseph Goebbels pronounce that "Jewish Intellectualism" is dead.   And it was.  The crowd witnessed the burning of books by Brecht, Einstein, Freud, Mann, and Remaque.

Interesting fact:  one of the books was the works of the Jewish poet Heinrich Heine, who in 1822 wrote the prophetic words:  "Where they burn books, they will in the end, burn human beings."

A painting of Heine by Moritz Daniel Oppenheim
Oddly enough, on this day in 1941 Rudolf Hess, the Deputy Fuhrer of Nazi Germany and close personal friend of Adolf Hitler, parachuted into Scotland from a plane that hem himsefl had been flying.  He was found by a local farmer who Hess told: Take Me To Your Leader!

Yes, the guy was crazy...  or, was he?

On this day in 1973, the Bilderberg Group met for the first time.  Within months, we had the results:  the oil shock/hoax of 1973 in which oil went from $3 to $12.   Yes, it was raining money for the greedy sons-bitches.

Finally, on this day in 1872, the "Equal Rights" party selected Victoria Woodhull to run for president.  Her vice president mate was none of than Frederick Douglas.   That's right folks, 1872!

Looks like the fight for justice has been going on for a while now: now hasn't it.

Monday Monday

Now, I told you Friday that the Universe will produce something big this 7th day of May, 2018, a Monday.   I'm not sure what that will be, but we will see.   In the meantime, on this day in 1966, the first musical quartet to include two men and two woman, the Mammas and Papas, hit the top of their recording of the song,  Monday, Monday.

In honor of this crazy Monday, here are the lyrics.

Monday Monday
The Mamas & the Papas

Bah-da bah-da-da-da
Bah-da bah-da-da-da
Bah-da bah-da-da-da
Monday, Monday, so good to me
Monday mornin´, it was all I hoped it would be
Oh Monday mornin´, Monday mornin´ couldn´t guarantee
That Monday evenin´ you would still be here with me
Monday, Monday, can´t trust that day
Monday, Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way
Oh Monday mornin´ you gave me no warnin´ of what was to be
Oh Monday, Monday, how could you leave and not take me
Every other day, every other day
Every other day of the week is fine, yeah
But whenever Monday comes, but whenever Monday comes
A-you can find me cryin´ all of the time
Monday, Monday, so good to me
Monday mornin´, it was all I hoped it would be
But Monday mornin´, Monday mornin´ couldn´t guarantee
That Monday…

Was it a UFO?
Hermias Sozomen, in his Ecclesiastical History, notes that "At the time Cyril succeeded Maximus in the government of the church of Jerusalem, the sign of the cross appeared in the heavens:  its radiance was not feeble and divergent like that of comets, but splendid and concentrated.  Its length was about fifteen stadia from Calvary to the Mount of Olives, and its bredth was in proportion to its length.
"So extraordinary a phenomenon excited universal terror."
He also stated it was visible for several days and was brighter than the sun.

Apollo Belvedere
Finally, around this date each year, the ancient Greeks and Ionians celebrated the festival known as the Thargelia.  The festival was held in honor of Apollo, god of the Sun, prophecy, music, medicine, and poetry.  It took place on the sacred island of Delos, the traditional birthplace of Apollo and his twin sister, the Moon goddess Artemis.

Is guilty by association still a thing?

Stormy Daniels Film
So Trump is one-step closer to revealing himself.  In today's news, he admits paying the porn star, Stormy Daniels to keep her mouth shut.  In my book, this makes him guilty of something.  Need more proof Trump is going down, how about this, he has now hired the same attorney that President Clinton used when he got caught fooling-around with an intern.   Is guilty by association still a thing?

No one in their right mind thinks Trump isn't corrupt.   Stating that, "they are all corrupt" is no excuse.  Expect better.  A land of law cannot be run by lawbreakers who believe the law is only to protect their 1% interest.

So they will soon be coming for Trump in handcuffs and just as with Hitler after the fall of the Nazis party and the soldier blamed the failure on everything but Hitler, the 30 percent of y'all supporting Trump will find a reason to disregard the facts and find him a lovable man.
Case in point, on this day in 1945 the Nazis War was ending.  In his book "I Will Bear Witness," Victor Klemperer writes in his journal for May 4th, 1945:

...once again took in two soldiers, unarmed but in uniform, with whom we talked for a long time.  Both in their early twenties, in the army for several years, before that one had been a commercial employee, the other—older, spectacles, more talkative, the dominant one.  I took him to be a primary schoolteacher—a law student in his first semester, but since then a soldier for five years.  Both Sudeten Germans, left their disbanded unit at Dillingen, trying to reach home by way of Ingolstadt, Regensburg.  They had frequently passed Americans, finally some who were riding along the railway track on a trolley, so far unmolested. Yesterday they had listened to a radio, everything, including Berlin, had capitulated, and Hitler was dead.  The student declared: “If anyone had told me that, even four weeks ago, I would have shot him down—but now I don’t believe anything anymore...” They had wanted too much, they had overdone things, there had been atrocities,, the way people had been treated in Poland and Russia, inhuman! “But the Fuhrer probably knew nothing about it,” the Fuhrer was not to blame; they say that Himmler was in charge of the government.  (Still the belief in Hitler, he undoubtedly had a religious effect.) Neither quite believed anymore in the “turning point” and the imminent war between the USA and Russia, but they did a little bit nevertheless.  They were hostile to the SS, which was still fighting.  “In the end they’ll make a bolt for it in civilian clothes and get away.”

The hawthorn tree is honored on this day at the festival of the Veneration of the Thorn.  Hawthrons marking sacred places and holy wells are acknowledged by tying scraps of new cloth to their branches.  According to Irish folklore, this date marks Fairy Day, when mischievous fairies emerge from their hiding places to cause confusion.

Could this explain the reason re-emergence of Rudy Giuliani?

Joan of Arc says.... Trump Orwellian Video

May 2nd, 1431 interrogation of Joan Arc

Read on, and then I will answer you.  I look to God, my creator, in all.  I love him with all my heart.

Is that all that you wish to answer now?

I took to my judge--he is King of Heaven and earth.

Do you mean to say that you have no judge on this earth?  Is not our holy father the Pope your judge?

I will not answer further to that.  I have a good master--that is, our Lord--to whom only I look, and to none other.

When I shall have done that for which I am sent from God, I will put on women's clothing.

You will not do what you say against me without suffering for it both in body and soul.

We are all pagans in the end.

Walpurgis Night derives from an ancient Teutonic holiday when the arrival of spring was celebrated with nocturnal bonfires.  In Germany, birch boughs are placed on doors to protect homes from sorcery.  Fires and torches of rosemary and juniper are lit, and according to legend, witches may be seen riding broomsticks across the sky.

What's this got to do with you and me?

Our roots baby, that's all I'm trying to show you here is that our roots are a natural religion, one that doesn't need a Jesus or Mohammad to get us into ever-after.  A truth bigger than god Himself, a truth that doesn't discriminate on color of skin.  A truth that frees us of the church lie!   For, I totally believe with all my piss, shit, and honey, that before we can go forward as a people, we have to go back to our garlic-in -the-doorway past, before the scene of the crime, dancing in circles, holding hands, waving wands....

We are all pagans in the end.

It is widely believed that Christianity spread because it was a great idea desperately needed in a wold devoid of hope and faith.  Indeed, the myth says that Christianity was such a great idea that it caught on like wildfire in a lost world barren of spiritual enlightenment and crying out "like a voice in the wilderness."  It is further maintained that Christianity spread because of the "martyrdom" of its adherents, which purportedly so impressed a number of the early Church fathers that they cast off their Pagan roots to join the "true faith."  In reality, Christianity was a new and surprising concept, and the impression of the ancient world given in this story is incorrect, as the ancient cultures possessed every bit of wisdom, righteousness and practically everything else found in Christianity.

Like so much else about Christianity, the claims of its rapid spread are largely mythical.  In reality, in some places it took many blood-soaked centuries before its opponents and their lineage had been sufficiently slaughtered so the Christianity could usurp the reigning ideology.  Pagan Europeans and others fought it tooth and nail, in an epic and heroic effort to maintain their own cultures and autonomy, in the face of an onslaught by those whom the Pagans views as "idiots" and "bigots."

The people didn't willingly give up the faith of their ancestors, which they considered essential to the proper functioning of the earth's cycles.  They had their own hope of immortality and their own ethic, in many ways a kinder ethic than that of Christianity, which was imposed on them by force.  Justinian obtained 70,000 conversions in Asia Minor by methods that were so cruel that the subject populations eventually adopted Islam in order to rid themselves of the rigors of Christian rule.  As a rule, heathen folk resisted Christianity as long as they could, even after their rulers had gone over to the new faith for its material rewards....

Michele Bachmann: Carbon Dioxide denier and the roaches!

Ishtar
The festival of Ishtar, goddess of love, sexuality, and fertility, took place in ancient Babylonia on this day.  Offerings were made to the goddess to promote healthy and fruitfulness.

Earth Day has been celebrated on this date since the early 70's.  It is a day dedicated to Gaia -- the planet, not the internet TV station with Regina Meredith.  Earth Day is real, no matter what the Right Wing Lunatics want you to believe.   At last count, the Academies of Science from 80 countries plus many scientific organizations that study climate science, around 95% of active climate researchers actively publishing climate papers endorse the consensus position that Climate Change is Real.

Still the deniers are out there, as on this day in April of 2009, Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota delivered this message from the House of Representatives:

"As a matter of fact, carbon dioxide is portrayed as harmful!   But there isn't one study that can be produced that shows carbon dioxide is a harmful gas.  There isn't one study because carbon dioxide is not a harmful gas--it is a harmless gas.  Carbon dioxide is natural.  It is not harmful.  It is part of earth's life cycle."

Update:  Michele Bachmann is so evil, in 2012 she applied for a Swiss citizenship.   Yeah, another patriotic Republican Congressperson who's true interest in US politics is to confuse the truth for her own personal gain, and then take the money and run to a Climate Conscious Country.   Also worth noting, Bachmann runs a Christian Organization who was under investigation for stealing email addresses so she could mass-market parents with more Eco lies.

And again I have to ask you my dear Republican friends:  Is this really the government you want?   If so, why don't you and Michele suck the tailpipe of a Mercedes for just five-minutes and tell me carbon dioxide is safe?

Michele Bachmann: Carbon Dioxide denier.
Happy Earth Day Everyone!   Their days are numbered.   Truth is coming and they don't like it.   We are turning on the light on their lies and they are running like roaches.

Chariot Festival of the Rain or Golden Shower?

In the Himalayan kingdom of Nepal, an annual religious event called the Chariot Festival of the Rain God begins on this day.  it is dedicated to Machendrana, the ancient and powerful Indian god of rain.  For the current US President, this "shower" festivals happens when he is in a Russia hotel with nothing to do and is called a "golden shower."

We're all pagans baby, especially our Golden Shower President.

What?  I'm just saying....

And again, another asteroid just pops up out of nowhere to scare the hell out of us.   Some say it's because our asteroid-finding equipment is better than ever.   I call bull shit.   There is more debris than ever headed our way and our leaders are telling us not to look up but to look at well the 1% are enjoying their tax cuts.  Shit, they're not paying for anything, accept a seat on the space craft being designed by the Space X program, which, in case you missed in an earlier post, is being designed to take a large group of 1%-ers up in space long enough to survive a dinosaur killing asteroid.

But you don't care, you've got your donuts and ESPN.    You're doing alright.

A 150-Foot Asteroid Flew Alarmingly Close to Earth Just Hours After Being Spotted

The asteroid, named Asteroid 2018 GE3, was closest to Earth at around 2.41 a.m. ET on April 15 when it was spotted about 119,500 miles away, EarthSky.org reports. That’s closer than the moon, which orbits Earth at an average distance of 238,900 miles. GE3 also passed close to the moon later that morning on its journey around the sun.

Good morning, reading Trump’s mind is getting so easy.  No wonder Russia wanted him president.  Look for him to fire someone today.   Why?  Because the day is Friday the 13th?   No.  But, because on this day in history, if you believe such things: After a 33-hour bombardment by Confederate cannons, Union forces surrender Fort Sumter in South Carolina’s Charleston Harbor.  The first engagement of the war ended in Rebel victory.  The surrender concluded a standoff that began with South Carolina’s secession from the Union on December 20, 1860.

FBI comey's book is almost here folks!  And what a tail he has to tell.   Here's an except (I paraphrase):  When Donald Trump first met with me, he tried to convince me that the "golden shower" rumors were not true.  “It never happened,” said Trump.  “I never let that woman pee on me in that bed.  Melanie needs to know this.”

Echk, does anyone really doubt this is true.

Finally, enjoy Friday the 13th, it's a great day for a day dream.

Tax cuts for the top 1% and corporate greed will soon put the US back in the dark ages.   How?  Let’s start here, our Space Program.  Once a great Government Funded and Operated program.  I mean, shit, we put a man on the moon while Russia was still pealing bananas (I like mixed metaphors, they’re funny).  That was the sixties when the top 1% still paid their fair share of the tax burden; before they decided it would be better to circle their wagons in a gated communities fed by private tollways and let the masses who’s backs they built their wealth on, fend for ourselves.  Which we did for awhile thanks to YouTube, but as Nasim Najafi Aghdam just pointed out and went ballistic in doing so, you can’t make a living on YouTube anymore cooking salads and jumping around in tights, so you actually have to get a real job and unless you’re the fortunate few who are in good standings with a 1% approved access-card accessible company, you will have to work at least three jobs either delivering food to the 1%, picking up their trash from their doorstep since they no longer want to pay taxes for public sanitation, or Uber — of course, the Uber option will soon be over as soon as they can figure out a way not to have their cars drive themselves.   At that point, they will have us where they want us: poverty peasants ready to enlist in a war to make them richer and get us some form of medical care.

Sounds harsh you say?  Consider this, after the success of the NASA flights in the Church 60’s and 70’s, the Republicans told you over and over that No Government was good government — unless it is protecting the life of a sperm, but I digress.  So, they started privatizing everything for profit, including our space program.  So, we have this 1% who claims to be an idealist, Elon Musk, with his own space program funded by the 1% who are planning their escape to a new planet after they totally destroy this one with fracking — dynamite holes aren’t only going down, they go sideways, upways, and you don’t have a clue what they are doing to our planet, they do, but they have their escape plan.... But wait, there is one problem with their plan: The other governments still paying their taxes to fund a government space program.  That’s right, while we are figuring out how to make a profitable Space Program for the 1% in charge, Russia and China are building a non-profitable space program for a soon to be Outer Space War.  According to a recent article in Politico, the U.S. is years behind China and Russia from under-funding.   The main concern is GPS jamming which could be used in a trade war... what, trade war?  Yes, Trade War!

So, you’ve bought into the no government is good government and elected profit seekers over good statesmen and woman to keep the top 1% happy and we’ll all be able to live a good life sniffing through their trash: wrong!  And keep letting them destroy good government over Racist, Religious, Coporate nuts who really believe this country will do fine as long as the top 1% don’t have to pay for your roads or trash pickup! News Flash: soon we won’t have a democracy, what we will have is a Puttin to tell us when to eat, shit, and piss after his faux election.

Think about it: no satellite, no iPhone.

Wake up, a greedy corporations is not the government of the people, a socialistic democracy is the only way we all get through this.

But you don’t care, you have your donuts for breakfast and chic-fil-a for dinner: you gots it good, why vote?

Spring Love

April 6th, 1199, the warrior king Richard I, "the Lionhearted," didn't meet his end in battle, as might have been expected, but on a day relatively free of hostilities, as he casually walked around the perimeter of a castle in Châlus, France, without armor.  Suddenly, a young man fired his crossbow from a parapet above, striking the king in the shoulder.  Though the shot wasn't immediately fatal, the wound became gangrenous and Richard soon realized he was dying.  It was then, according to a number of contemporary chronicles, that the king did something entirely unexpected: He had the young man who had shot him summoned to his room where he immediately... forgave him.

Unfortunately, the kings followers didn't think forgiving the guy was a good idea and so, flayed him alive.
All of this, I might add, on a beautiful day in France, one where the people held a Boat Festival commemorating the return of spring.  Still, to this day, children celebrate this day by making a wish and then launching a miniature boat into the estuaries of the Mozelle River.  Each boat holds a burning candle and symbolizes sailing on the "sea of life."  Anyone finding a boat may also make a wish while bringing it to the shore.

And with Spring in the air, I leave with this message of love:

Generally, the way we label other people and things as good or bad, handsome or ugly, is determined by desire and craving.  We call good what we like and bad what we dislike.  These are inventions of our own minds.  If beauty actually existed in objects themselves, we would all be irresistibly attracted by the same people and things.

Talking About April 5

Pocahontas

April 5, what a day indeed.   As coincidence would have it, on this day in 1614, in colonial Virginia, Pocahontas marries Jamestown tobacco planter John Rolfe, and by doing so, ensured peace with the Native Americans because Pocahontas' dad was the leader of most of the tribes in the area.  I guess you could say Rolfe married up.   Fast forward to the year 1758, on this same day! What? Really, on this same day in Pennsylvania teenager Mary Jemison is kidnapped by Native Americans from her family's farm and spends the rest of her life with the Senecas nation.   She eventually wrote a best selling biography about her captive history and it became a huge hit and was sold at all the feed stores.

On this day in 1794, French revolutionary leader Georges Jacques Danton is executed by guillotine for standing up to the wealthy 1% bastards running the show back then (The Monarchy).  Renowned for his satire, he said things like "The kings of Europe would dare challenge us? We throw them the head of a king!" at the execution of Louis XVI.

Before his own execution, Danton said: "Be sure you show the mob my head.  It will be a long time ere they see its likes again."

Danton was a man, yes, a big man.  Just look at his mugshot:

On this day in China and Japan, people celebrate the festival of Kwan Yin, goddess of compassion, healing, mercy, and forgiveness. Spiritual Enlightened/Truth Seeker opposed to religious idiots!

Wow, on this, the anniversary of the day that their Lord and Savior parted the Red Sea to let the Israelite's flee Egypt, I get to tell you about another great religious experience happening today brought to us by the soon to be assassinated, Pope Frances.

First, about the parting of the Red Sea to let the Israelite's escape Egypt; it supposedly happened on this day in 1312 B.C. (21 Nissan, 2448).

I'm so sorry I used the word "assassinated" and "Pope" in the same post, but as I told you a few weeks ago, Pope Francis has pissed off a lot of radical Christians around the world by asking Christians and Muslim's to build "A New Civilization of Peace."  What!  Yes, he's telling the extremist on both sides to cool their jets.  Duck for your life!
I wasn't there, but I imagine everyone on the podium with Pope Francis ducked for cover when he said that for fear of another church shooting.   I mean, nothing scares me more than radical Christians and I'm not even black!  Take for instance the Polish church leader who actually threatened the Pope's life over the "Christian and Muslim" statement.  Ouch!  Compare this with the Dalai Lama coming out a few years ago and saying he was the end of the line for Dalai Lama's and wouldn't be reincarnated into the next Dalai Lama: sure seems like times are a-changing.

And so just today, Pope Francis has come out and denied the existence of hell.  What!  He is really sounding like one of us now:  A Spiritual Enlightened/Truth Seeker opposed to religious idiots! (Say that with a cracker in your mouth).  Still, I wouldn't get close to him in a Dallas motorcade.

Yes, just like Pope Francis I'm looking forward to the future when we are all enlightened, living in peace without our divisive gods.   And why is this?  Well, if we don't go forward, we will go backwards.  Need I remind you that on this day in 1692,  in Salem, Christians accused Sarah Cloyce of witchcraft.  I checked in all the registers, and will tell you: she was no witch.   But now, in the Salem Town journals, it's a different story: apparently, while Benjamin Gould was sleeping, the form of Sarah Cloyce visited him.  This encounter left Gould with such a pain in his foot he could not force a shoe on it for two or three days thereafter... all because of the witch!
