Kennedy's sing Auld Lang Syne: Happy New Year!

Auld Lang Syne is a song which thrilled the soul of Robert Burns in the 1780s, and today has become an anthem sung the world over at New Year.

First, and to get it out of the way, Robert Burns was a Freemason, but then, what man-of-means back in the 1780's wasn't?   He was initiated into St. David Tarbolton Lodge in Scotland on July 4, 1781.   I won't go into the secret teachings of the Freemason, but I will share their secret handshake with you:

It's a regular handshake, except that you press your forefinger hard into the other's palm.  The thumb presses against the base joints of the second and third fingers.  It looks pretty much like any other handshake; only the persons shaking hands can feel the difference.

Now, back to Auld Lang Syne:

In 1788, Robert Burns sent the poem 'Auld Lang Syne' to the Scots Musical Museum, indicating that it was an ancient song but that he'd been the first to record on paper.  The phrase 'auld lang syne' roughly translates as 'for old times' sake,' and the song is all about preserving old friendships and looking back over the events of the year.

It has long been a much-loved Scottish tradition to sing the song just before midnight.  Everyone stands in a circle holding hands, then at the beginning of the final verse ('And there's a hand my trusty friend') they cross their arms across their bodies so that their left hand is holding the hand of the person on their right, and their right hand holds that of the person on their left. When the song ends, everyone rushes to the middle, still holding hands, and probably giggling.

Most Scots know the first verse and the chorus but if you don't, here's the full version.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne.

Chorus:

For auld lang syne, my jo,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne,

And surely ye'll be your pint-stowp!
And surely I'll be mine!
And we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

Chorus

We twa hae run about the braes
And pu'd the gowans fine;
But we've wander'd mony a weary foot
Sin auld lang syne.

Chorus

We twa hae paidl'd i' the burn,
Frae mornin' sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar'd
Sin auld lang syne.

Chorus

And there's a hand, my trusty fiere!
And gie's a hand o' thine!
And we'll tak a right guid willy waught,
For auld lang syne.

Chorus

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
And long, long ago.

Chorus

And for long, long ago, my dear
For long, long ago,
We'll take a cup of kindness yet,
For long, long ago

And surely youll buy your pint-jug!
And surely I'll buy mine!
And we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
For long, long ago.

Chorus

We two have run about the hills
And pulled the daisies fine;
But we've wandered manys the weary foot
Since long, long ago.

Chorus

We two have paddled in the stream,
From morning sun till dine;
But seas between us broad have roared
Since long, long ago.

Chorus

And there's a hand, my trusty friend!
And give us a hand of yours!
And we'll take a deep draught of good-will
For long, long ago.

New Year's Eve, so it be.

The modern custom of ringing bells and blowing horns to usher in the new year at midnight is actually derived from the old Pagan custom of noise-making to scare away the evils of the old year. In certain parts of Japan, young men put on grotesque demon masks and costumes made of straw and go door to door collecting donations of money, rice cakes, and sake. This traditional New Year's Eve custom serves to drive out the demons of misfortune and ensure an abundant harvest for the new year. Another part of this New Year's Eve celebration was called Hogmanay, or "First Footing," and is still celebrated in many parts of England and Scotland, where revelers hold parties, set off fireworks, ring bells, and make New Year's resolutions.  At the stroke of midnight, the front doors of all the homes are opened to permit the entry of good luck in the new year.

Happy New Year's Everyone, let's hope it's a good one!

December 30th, Mad Monk Day

The 3rd card of the Major Arcana is The Empress, symbolizing creative intelligence.  She is the perfect woman, the ultra-feminine, Mother Earth nurturer, who embodies our dreams, hopes and aspirations.  This card represents positive traits of charm, grace and unconditional love, but also negative traits of vanity and affectation, as well as an intolerance for imperfection.

December 30, 1692 - Friday

(from the Salem County Logs)

Andover paid widow Rebecca Johnson, free on bail, for her past duties of sweeping the meeting house and ringing its bell.  The town also reinstated her for the coming year, though she still had to appear at the next Superior Court to answer the witchcraft charge.

It was on this day in 1994 that a person obviously possessed by a demon, murdered two woman in cold blood.   Two women were shot by an activist who described himself as a pro-lifer.  Obviously, he wasn't Pro-Life, so what was he?

Well, according to The Army of God who has a rather provincial website page that looks like it hasn't been updated since the 1994 MURDER, John Salvi was just, "Thinking about the babies being murdered in these two death camps was too much for John to bear without doing what he could to save their lives. He did the right thing and stopped the killing of the children."

I'm not going to politicize this, but will say, What?

The Mad Monk

On this date in the year 1916, Rasputin (a famous Russian mystic monk, occultist, and court magician) was assassinated by his enemy Prince Feliks Yusupov. Rasputin, who was drowned in the frozen Neva River, presaged his own death.

Rasputin was killed on December 30, 1916 (December 17 in the Russian calendar in use at the time), in the basement of the Moika Palace, the Saint Petersburg residence of Prince Felix Yussupov, the richest man in Russia and the husband of the Czar’s only niece, Irina. His battered body was discovered in the Neva River a few days later.

In the decade prior, Rasputin had risen rapidly through Russian society, starting as an obscure Siberian peasant-turned-wandering-holy-man and then becoming one of the most prominent figures in the Czar’s inner circle. Born in 1869 in the village of Pokrovskoye, on the Tura river that flows eastward from the Ural Mountains, where Europe meets Asia in Siberia. He seemed destined for an ordinary life, despite a few conflicts in his youth with local authorities for unruly behavior. He married a local woman, Praskovya Dubrovina, became the father of three surviving children, Maria, Dmitri and Varvara, and worked on his family’s farm.

Rasputin’s life changed in 1892, when he spent months at a monastery, putting him on the path to international renown. Despite his later nickname, “The Mad Monk,” Rasputin never took Holy Orders.  Men in Rasputin’s position usually gave up their past lives and relationships but Rasputin continued to see his family – his daughters later lived with him in Saint Petersburg – and support his wife financially.

December 29th and the High Priestess

The second card of the Major Arcana is The Priestess, shown seated on her throne, calm and impenetrable.  She is a spiritual woman who reveals hidden forces and secrets, empowering those of us who heed her with that knowledge.  Favorable qualities of this card are silence, intuition, reserve and discretion; negative traits are secretiveness, mistrust and inertia.

In 1170 on this day, Thomas Becket, the archbishop of Canterbury is murdered in Canterbury Cathedral by four Norman knights.  Their actions are widely held to have been prompted by an overheard outburst from King Henry: "Who will rid me of this turbulent priest?" Becket and the king had had a long-running dispute as to whether the king was subject to the church or in charge of it.

On an interesting note, our current King Trump has said similar things about his confessor, Bob Mueller of the Justice Department and his investigation into the campaign’s alleged ties to the Kremlin.  Fortunately, at least for the time being, Mueller hasn't been beheaded...  I mean,  as Mick Jagger said in his song Midnight Rambler, "Baby that hurts!"

And if you don't believe me, just read this first-hand account brought to you by the makers of Tao Soap:

But when he (Becket) would not be persuaded by arguments or prayer to take refuge in the church the monks caught hold of him in spite of his resistance, and pulled, dragged, and pushed him, not heeding his clamours to be let go, and brought him to the church...And straight-way (the knights) entered the house of peace and reconciliation with swords sacrilegiously drawn, causing horror to the beholders by their very looks and the clanging of their arms...inspired by fury the knights called out, "Where is Thomas Becket, traitor to the King and realm?" As he answered not they cried out the more furiously, "Where is the Archbishop?" At this...he descended from the stair where he had been dragged by the monks in fear of the knights, and in a clear voice answered, "I am here, no traitor to the King, but a priest.  Why do ye seek me?"...

"Absolve," they cried, "and restore to communion those whom you have excommunicated, and restore their powers to those whom you have suspended."  He answered, "There has been no satisfaction, and I will not absolve them."  "Then you shall die," they cried, "and receive what you deserve..."  They laid sacrilegious hands on him, pulling and dragging him that they might kill him outside the church, or carry him away to prisoner, as they afterwards confessed.  But when he could not be forced away from the pillar, one of them pressed on him and clung to him more closely.  Him he pushed off calling him "pander," and saying, "Touch me not, Reginald; you owe me fealty and subjection; you and your accomplices act like madmen...." The wicked knight, fearing lest he should be rescued by the people and escape alive, leapt upon him suddenly and wounded this lamb who was sacrificed to God on the head, cutting off the top of the crown which the sacred unction of the chrism had dedicated to God; and by the same blow he wounded the arm of him who tells this.... Then he received a second blow on the head but still stood firm.  At the third blow he fell on his knees and elbows...The third knight inflicted a terrible wound as he lay, by which the sword was broken against the pavement, and the crown which was large was separated from the head; so that the blood white with the brain and the brain red with blood, dyed the surface of the virgin mother church with the life and death of the confessor and martyr in the colors of the lily and the rose.

-- From Edward Grim, a clerk in the following of Archbishop Thomas à Becket.

On a lighter note on this day in 1977, President Jimmy Carter, the president who admitted to seeing a UFO and being attached by a killer rabbit while fishing back in Georgia, traveled to Poland to give a speech. For reasons unknown at the time, the audiance sat with cold looks in their eyes.  For, Carter's speech was being interpreted by an interpreter who wasn't quite up to the job and so what Carter was saying was coming out very wrong:

"I left the United States this morning," Carter had said, which was interpreted to the people as: "I abandoned the United States this morning." (They thought he was there to stay.)

"I have come to learn your opinions and understand your desires for the future..."  was interpreted as ... well, "I desire the Poles carnally." (Not only is he going to stay, he want's sex!)

Yes, the good old-days when bad interpreters where funny.

Thursday

December 28th, The Magician!

December 28th, the 1st card of the Major Arcana is The Magician, who symbolizes intellect, communication, information, as well as magic.  Over his head is an infinity symbol, which in some Tarot decks takes the form of a hat, in others a halo.  Many interpretations may be drawn, one of which is that the Magician recognizes the cyclical and unending nature of life and is empowered by this understanding.  The positive traits suggested by this first card include diplomatic skill and shrewdness but, negatively, lack of scruples and opportunism.

Benjamin Robert Haydon
From Benjamin Robert Haydon's autobiography,  December 28th, 1817:

On December 28th the immortal dinner came off in my painting-room, with Jerusalem (Haydon's 'Christ's Entry into Jerusalem' painting)  towering up behind us as a background.  Wordsworth was in fine cue, and we had a glorious set-to on Homer, Shakespeare, Milton and Virgil.  Lamb got exceedingly merry and exquisitely witty; and his fun in the midst of Wordsworth's solemn intonations of oratory was like the sarcasm and wit of the fool in the intervals of Lear's passion.  He made a speech and voted me absent, and made them drink my health.  "Now," said Lamb, "you old lake poet, you rascally poet, why do you call Voltaire dull?" We all defended Wordsworth, and affirmed there was a state of mind when Voltaire would be dull.  "Well," said Lamb, "here's Voltaire -- the Messiah of the French nation, and a very proper one too."

He then, in a strain of humor beyond description, abused me for putting Newton's head into my picture; "a fellow," said he, "who believed nothing unless it was as clear as the three sides of a triangle."  And then he and Keats agreed he had destroyed all the poetry of the rainbow by reducing it to the prismatic colors.  It was impossible to resist him, and we all drank "Newton's health, and confusion to mathematics..."

In the morning of this delightful day, a gentleman, a perfect stranger, had called on me.  He said he knew my friends, had an enthusiasm for Wordsworth, and begged I would procure him the happiness of an introduction.  He told me he was a comptroller of stamps, and often had correspondence with the poet.  I thought it a liberty; but still, as he seemed a gentleman, I told him he might come.

When we retired to tea (after dinner) we found the comptroller.  In introducing him to Wordsworth I forgot to say who he was.  After a little time the comptroller looked down, looked up and said to Wordsworth: "Don't you think, sir, Milton was a great genius?"  Keats looked at me, Wordsworth looked at the comptroller.  Lamb who was dozing by the fire turned round and said: "Pray, sir, did you say Milton was a great genius?"  "No, sir; I asked Mr. Wordsworth if he were not." "Oh," said Lamb, "then you are a silly fellow."  "Charles! my dear Charles!" said Wordsworth; but Lamb, perfectly innocent of the confusion he had created, was off again by the fire.

After an awful pause the comptroller said: "Don't you think Newton a great genius?" I could not stand it any longer.  Keats put his head into my books.  Ritchie squeezed in a laugh.  Wordsworth seemed asking himself: "Who is this?" Lamb got up, and talking a candle, said: "Sir, will you allow me to look at your phrenological development?"  He then turned his back on the poor man, and at every question of the comptroller he chanted:

Diddle Diddle dumpling, my son John
Went to bed with his breeches on.

... Keats and I hurried Lamb into the painting-room, shut the door and gave way to inextinguishable laughter.  Monkhouse followed and tried to get Lamb away.  We went back, but the comptroller was irreconcilable.  We soothed and smiled and asked him to supper.  He stayed though his dignity was sorely affected.  However, being a good-natured man, we parted all in good humor, and no ill effects followed.

All the while, until Monkhouse succeeded, we could hear Lamb struggling in the painting-room and calling at intervals: "Who is that fellow?  Allow me to see his organs once more."

-- Wordsworth had in 1813 been appointed to the sinecure post of Distributor of Stamps for Westmorland; one of his most famous sonnets is in praise of Milton.

In the above painting by Benjamin Robert Haydon, titled "Christ's Entry into Jerusalem, Wordsworth appears at the right middle-ground, opposite Christ's out-stretched arm, with head bowed and hand on breast.  Behind him to his left stand Voltaire and Newton (in profile).  Keats is directly behind Wordsworth, also in profile.

For those of you new to the Christian Art of old, most of it does have hidden messages by the artist to show us they were just doing what they had to to make a living since, Religious Fanaticism controlled everything and if you didn't obey it's control, you were out of work.   Pretty much the way it is today in the U.S. if you want to have a cushion corporate job with full benefits... you must appear to be obediently conservative or else you're out.

Ces tout!

Feast of Fools Ancient Drawing

During the Middle Ages before the Christian Church totally made it a Baby Jesus Holiday, the Feast of Fools was a very popular day that captured the light-hearted spirit of the Roman Saturnalia (also known as the twelve days of Christmas).  On this day, normal roles were often reversed, with masters waiting on their servants.

Hmmmm, 'Masters waiting on their servants."

Is it any wonder that  in 1869 on this day, The Knights of Labor, a union of tailors in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, held the first Labor Day ceremonies in American history.  Established as a secret society for fear of death from the always too-conservative U.S. politicians backed by Trump-like business owners, it grew into a national body that played an important role in the labor movement of the late 19th century which actually led to an eight hour work day, Sundays off, and health insurance... all of which have been slowly taken away and will shortly be a thing of history once the current politic-body of the U.S has completed done away with all social programs in the name of Tax Cuts....  of course, then we will have another revolution, so dear friends, please carry on as I connect the dots for you.

Wednesday

December 27th, The Hermit

December 27th, yes, speaking in Tarot, it is the 9th card of the Major Arcana, The Hermit, who is usually depicted walking with a lantern and a stick; he represents meditation, isolation and quietude.  The card also signifies crystallized wisdom and ultimate discipline.  The Hermit is a taskmaster who motivates by conscience and guides others on their path.  The positive side of this card is stick-to-it-ivness, purpose, profundity and concentration; negative qualities include dogmatism, intolerance, mistrust and discouragement.

In 1904 on this day, the play Peter Pan, by English author James M. Barrie, opens at the Duke of York's Theatre in London.  In 1927, Leon Trotsky is expelled from the Communist Party when Joseph Stalin's takes over the government and starts killing off the poets and other liberals.  And in 1979 on this day, the communist president Halizullah Amin and his family are murdered by a squad of KGB gunmen.  The killing was accompanied by the movement of Soviet troops into the country, beginning a costly war that would last for more than a decade and plunge Afghanistan into more than twenty years of warfare and repression.

Salem Town

The court of general sessions fined Ezekiel Collins L3 for barging into the Gloucester home of William Sargent late one night, and "abusing" both Sargent and his wife.  (But the records do not indicate if this altercation had to do with past witch accusations or not.)

The magistrates considered the Salem Village Church's complaint that several Village inhabitants had paid none of their assigned share toward the minister's salary and the upkeep of church property.  Others paid only "as little as they pleased," so that most of the rates remained uncollected....

The German military begins enlisting Soviet prisoners of war in their World War II battle against Russia, eventually creating a 50,000-man army know as the Russian Liberation division.  Tens of thousands eventually ended up turning back against the Germans, then finally surrendering  to the Americans rather than to the advancing Soviets when the German cause was lost.

December 27, 1943, Monday evening

In 1938 the Jews of Leipzig were pulled out of their beds at 4:15 a.m. and taken to cncentration camps.  The English recently attacked the city at 4:15 a.m., and afterward all the electric clocks were stopped at 4:15.

A married sister of the wife lives there.  When the warning came, the couple ran down to the cellar, the bombs started exploding, and most of their house collapsed.  They were rescued, but without clothes, even underwear, quite stripped and naked.... Also, a huge cold storage plant was hit.  A river of thousands upon thousands of smashed eggs flowed out, likewise a river of melted butter and margarine.  Russian prisoners, deployed to fight the fires, had stuffed the fat into their mouths with their hands until they were sick.  Soldiers had fallen upon stores of wine, knocked the necks off bottles against the nearest wall, and gulped down the contents...Whole streets have been flattened.  The number of dead....

December 26th, 1980, the Rendlesham Forest Incident, also known as “Britain’s Roswell.”

December 26th, 1980, the Rendlesham Forest Incident, also known as “Britain’s Roswell.”

Lt. Col. Charles Halt stated, around 3:00am on the 26th of December, strange lights were reported by a security patrol near the East Gate of RAF Woodbridge apparently descending into nearby Rendlesham Forest. Servicemen initially thought it was a downed aircraft, but after entering the forest to investigate they saw, according to Halt’s memo, a strange glowing object with a metallic  appearance and colored lights.  As they approached, the UFO moved through the trees, and “the animals on a nearby farm went into a frenzy.” The craft left three impressions or depressions on the ground that were visible the next day.  One of the servicemen, Sgt. Jim Penniston, later claimed to have encountered a “craft of unknown origin” and to have made detailed notes of its features, touched its “warm” surface, and copied the numerous symbols on its body. The object allegedly flew away after their brief encounter. Penniston also claimed to have seen triangular landing gear on the object. [ref. Files Mufon.com]

Harry Frazee

Don't believe in curses?   How about this one, on this day in 1919, Harry Frazee, the owner of the Boston Red Sox, sells Babe Ruth -- a great ball-player who drank a lot of beer, smoked cigars, and ran around the bases in 20 pound shoes the size of  barbells -- to the New York Yankees. Frazee, sounding like a modern-day Jerry Jones explained the sell of the greatest hitter in baseball by saying, "While Ruth is undoubtedly the greatest hitter the game has ever seen, he is likewise one of the most selfish and inconsiderate men ever to put on a baseball uniform.  Had he possessed the right disposition, had he been willing to take orders and work for the good of the club like the other men on the team, I never would have dared let him go."

Sultan of Swat

The Sultan of Swat, as Ruth came to be called, immediately called foul on his old boss. "If not for Frazee, I would be content to play with the Red Sox to the end of my baseball days.  Frazee sold me because he was unwilling to meet my (salary) demands, and to alibi himself with the fans, he is trying to throw the blame on me."

The Red Sox owner had said at the time of the sale that the Yankees were taking a big gamble in paying such a steep price for Ruth.  But the risk paid off splendidly with seven pennants and four World Series titles during Babe Ruth's 14-year tenure with the team.  Meanwhile, the Sox finished dead last in 9 of the next 11 seasons and Boston would not win another Championship until 2004.  The curse became known as the Bambino Curse.

On this day in 1786, Daniel Shay led a group of American Revolutionary War veterans in a rebellion that would become known as The Shay Rebellion, which was a rebellion in Massachusetts to protest a tax increase to pay off war debts.  Those who couldn't pay were evicted from their property or sent to prison.

In 1971 on this day, fifteen Vietnam War veterans seized control of the Statue of Liberty to protest U.S. involvement in Vietnam;  this rebellion would be called the....  well, by this time the press lost interest and so this is probably the first you heard about this, for as we know, it was only the hippies and Jane Fonda who protested the war, right(?)

On a lighter note, Mao Tse-tung was born on this day.

Boxing Day is observed in Canada, the United Kingdom, and many other countries.  The name comes from the old custom of servants and other functionaries carrying boxes for Christmas gratuities or bonuses.

Kwanzaa, or "first fruit," a modern, seven-day-long celebration by African-American families of their heritage and ancestry, begins today.

Monday

December 25th and the Origins of Christmas

Origins of Christmas

The origins of Christmas predate Christianity through the Pagan holiday called Saturnalia, which was a week-long of lawlessness from December 17th through December 25th that honored Saturn and included human sacrifice, intoxication, naked caroling and rape. During these seven days, there were no punishments for breaking any laws, according to Roman law — judging from this year's Tax Cut for the Wealthy the Republicans just passed, there still isn’t any consequences for crimes, at least not for the crime of Greed Intoxication.

In the year 4 A.D., Christianity adopted Saturnalia with the hopes that they could convert the Pagans into Christianity by promising that they could still celebrate Saturnalia as Christians. (Imagine how that would work out today). Because Saturnalia did not follow Christian principles, the Christian leaders designated the last day of Saturnalia as the birth date of Jesus.

In 1466, the Roman Catholic Church, under Pope Paul II, forced Jews to run through the city naked as a tribute to Saturnalia. According to author David I. Kertzer, The Popes Against the Jews: The Vatican’s Role in the Rise of Modern Anti-Semitism, “Before they were to run, the Jews were richly fed, so as to make the race more difficult for them and at the same time more amusing for spectators.  They ran amid Rome’s taunting shrieks and peals of laughter, while the Holy Father stood upon a richly ornamented balcony and laughed heartily.”

It is important to note that in Astrotheology, Saturn is Satan. The rings we give during a wedding ritual represent the rings of Saturn. The word Saturday originates from the Old English word that means “Saturn’s day.”  To this day, many people continue to unknowingly celebrate Saturnalia through their participation in debauchery and gluttony.

According to wiki, the etymology of Christmas stems from the Old English word of Crīstesmæsse, which literally means” Christ’s mass.”

Christmas is derived from the Middle English Cristemasse, which is from Old English Crīstesmæsse, a phrase first recorded in 1038. Crīst (genitive Crīstes) is from Greek Khrīstos, a translation of Hebrew Māšîaḥ, “Messiah”; and mæsse is from Latin missa, the celebration of the Eucharist. The form “Christenmas” was also historically used, but is now considered archaic and dialectal; it derives from Middle English Cristenmasse, literally “Christian mass.” “Xmas” is an abbreviation of Christmas found particularly in print, based on the initial letter chi (Χ) in Greek Khrīstos (Χριστός), “Christ,”,though numerous style guides discourage its use; it has precedent in Middle English Χρ̄es masse (where “Χρ̄” is an abbreviation for Χριστός).

Saturn(alia) In Churches

On the ceiling of St. Andrews church on Waterloo Street in East Sussex, there is a painting showing the sun surrounded by stars, a comet, a crescent moon and Saturn.  Keep in mind that in astrotheology, Saturn is Satan.

The inner circle of 12 stars most likely represents the 12 apostles surrounding the sun/son, which is another astrotheological reference for Jesus Christ being the SUN of god. The outer circle contains 9 stars, the crescent eclipse of the moon, Saturn and a comet that appears to perhaps be diving toward the sun. The 9 stars plus Saturn may represent the 10 planets in our solar system, if Nibiru is counted as one of those stars.  The moon represents the Divine Feminine and the Virgin Mother.

The Cologne Cathedral in Innenstadt, Cologne, Germany clearly shows Saturn on their stained glass window:

In A Nutshell

The Winter Solstice has historically been the time of birth for all of Earth’s great teachers. Because it is the time of new light for the planet, World Teachers choose this particular time to incarnate because they always bring with them a new teaching. This teaching is a new state of illumination for the people of Earth. Winter Solstice occurs on December 21, the same time that the planetary keynote changes from Sagittarius to Capricorn. At the time of the Winter Solstice, the light currents submerged within the core of the Earth reverse and change course, just like the Sun, which is reversing its southward course and turning northward. A reverse movement of any planetary body creates a powerful force until the new motion or path stabilizes. Therefore, from December 21 to midnight on the morning of December 25th, there is a powerful force field of light and radiation enveloping the Earth.

While people argue over ethnic sensitivity issues between saying “Merry Christmas” versus “Happy Holidays,” the truth dates back much further than its Christian beginnings.  The intent of Christmas seems to be the overriding value behind its true, esoteric meaning or its Pagan origin. A symbol or celebration is only as powerful as the intent behind it. While Christmas has become the biggest holiday that supports the corporate world which in turn, lobbies against our civil rights, it also is a time of giving and being with family.

Sunday

Christmas Eve, Enjoy, peace and love to all.

Christmas Eve. According to Finnish folklore, the ghosts of departed loved ones return home each year on this night. It is a Christmas Eve tradition in Finland and in many other parts of Europe for families to light white candles on the graves of their ancestors.

Friday

So begins our Esoteric look at John Dee and his diary

22th of Dec: Anno: 1581

John Dee begins his conversation with the spirits.

Yes, John Dee was tired with the routine of his lives studies in mathematics, alchemy, the kabbalah, astrology, and magic (to name a few), and so decided to go straight to the source by scrying through a crystal ball on this day in 1581.

In his article in the Journal of International Philosophy, No.5 2016,  TAKEUCHI Dai, tells us that, "While the first record of the scrying sessions undertaken by Dee was taken on December 22, 1581, he had already employed a scryer in 1579…Dee employed at least four different scryers. Among them, Edward Kelly (1555-1597).... Kelly would kneel down in front of his desk upon which a shew-stone was set and fell to prayer and entreaty while gazing at the stone. During this time, Dee would withdraw to his Oratory and entreat the appearance of angels with prayer. About fifteen minutes later, Kelly would “have sight of one in the stone. He would then proceed to provide a point-for-point oral report on everything he saw and heard. Sitting at a different table, Dee recorded what was reported and posed all sorts of questions to the summoned angel or spirit.

The angels that communicated through Kelley included the four traditional archangels Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel, plus Annael, who Trithemius listed as the archangel ruling the period in which Dee lived, and Levanael (angel of the Moon). Other spirits or angels included Madimi (and her Mother), Murfridi, Ath, Solgars, Jubanladaece, Galva’h, Ilemese, Mapsama, Ave, Nalvage, Panlacarp, and Aphlafben, and disruptive spirits like Barma, Morvorgran and Ganislay. Frequently the communicant was just identified as ‘a voice’ (or vox).

These angels/spirits often delivered prophecies on Central European politics, as well as providing alchemical advice, and a number of tedious sermons and rants about the wickedness of Dee, Kelley or their several potential patrons.  Dee was particularly interested in the possibility of an immanent Second coming and the setting up of a new Kingdom of God.

Thursday

UFO disclosure news and Yule Time Joy.

After having been worked-up again last year by David Wilcock who said UFO Disclosure was going to happen in a few weeks -- I should have learned when the world didn't end December 21, 2012 as he predicted -- I was eventually let down because no governments came out admitting they had been in contact with aliens... until now!   Kind of.   It's still just a tease to get us used to the idea, but yesterday on CNN, A former Pentagon official who oversaw its highly secretive Unidentified Flying Object - yes, UFO - program said on CNN to host Erin Burnett that Americans may have been having visitors from afar for quite some time. And that the government has kept it quite on the hush-and-hush.

What I do find interesting about this is that only two-days ago on December 18th, a retired Navy pilot by the name of Fravor told ABC News: “I’m not crazy, haven’t been drinking. It was — after 18 years of flying, I’ve seen pretty much about everything that I can see in that realm, and this was nothing close.”

Fravor’s recounted a stunning encounter off the California coast in which he says something flying that appeared to be some 40 feet long and wingless, and flying at incredibly high rates of speed.
He was flying his F/A-18 fighter on a training mission off the Southern California coast when he recalls things started to get a little strange. He recalled Navy controllers on one of the ships below him on the water reporting that there were objects dropping from the sky from 80,000 feet and then going “straight back up,” Fravor told ABC News.

So there you have it, oh, plus at a White House Press briefing this week Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said she hadn’t heard either way (if Donald Trump believes in UFO's), but she will check in on that and be happy to circle back.

On December 21, 1620 the Mayflower landed at Plymouth Rock and so this date was celebrated in 1769 in honor of the pilgrims with a holiday called Forefathers' Day which turned out to be an ill-fated holiday that eventually fell into obscurity in favor of Thanksgiving.   Which, by-the-way, happens to fall on the old pagan Harvest celebration which was celebrated as Creator Day.   Yes, another pagan holiday gets stolen from our true history.   In case anyone is keeping counting.

Finally, the Winter Solstice happens tonight, enjoy.   I'll be at a  Pagan Yule Log Burning Solstice Ceremony in honor of it.  I'm sure there is one close to you, be there or be square.

The Wheel has turned once more, and
the earth has gone to sleep.
The leaves are gone, the crops have returned to the ground.
On this darkest of nights, we celebrate the light.
Tomorrow, the sun will return,
its journey continuing as it always does.
Welcome back, warmth.
Welcome back, light.
Welcome back, life.

Ghost Flight, planet Clarion, and Winter Solstice!

In 1941 on this day, the Flying Tigers, American pilots of fighting again Japanese in china during World War II, take to the air for the first time in their P-40 fighters, infliction heavy losses on Japanese bombers attacking Kunming.

On the flip side of that same year, a few days earlier (December 7th, 1941), the Japanese had invaded Pearl Harbor and of course you know the story there, of how the U.S. lost a lot of boats and people.   It's kind of bizarre then to realize that on December 8th of 1942, radar picked up an unidentified plane heading straight for Pearl Harbor from the direction of Japan.  Two fighters were instructed to investigate and quickly intercepted the mysterious plane. It would be the first sighting of the P-40 Ghost Plane which continues to appear in the area to unsuspecting flights.

Those who see the P-40 Ghost Flight all same the same thing: A pilot covered in blood and slumped over his instrument panel, briefly pops up and waves before his bullet-ridden fighter plane nosedives directly to the ground and crashes.

Lake City will be destroyed by a flood from the great lake just before dawn, Dec, 21, according to a suburban housewife.  Mrs. Dorothy Martin who says the prophesy is not her own.  It is the purport of many messages she has received by automatic writing, she says….  The messages, according to Mrs. Martin, are sent to her by superior beings from a planet called “Clarion.” These beings have been visiting the earth, she says, in what we call flying saucers.  During their visits, she says, they have observed fault lines in the earth’s crust that foretoken the deluge.    Mrs. Martin reports she was told the flood will spread to form an  inland sea stretching from the Arctic Circle to the Gulf of Mexico.  At the same time, she says, a cataclysm will submerge the West Coast from Seattle, Wash. to Chile in South America…
(Above excerpt from the book book, When Prophecy Fails)

ON December 20th, in 1954, Dorothy Martin had her house filled with friends who had joined her to meet the Aliens from planet Clarion who had promised to come save them at midnight, because the world would be destroyed by a flood that night.   The group decided not to buy Christmas gifts or make New Year party plans that year.   They just waiting.

When the clock hit 12:01am, December 21, and there weren't no aliens, Keech got another message: since they had joined together with so much love, the aliens had called off the flood.   The world was saved!

The next week, Dorothy Martin was placed under psychiatric care to prevent the Oak Park police of charging her with “inciting to riot,” after a “boisterous crowd… blocked traffic on Christmas Eve outside the Martin home at 707 S. Cuyler Av., Oak Park.

“I felt a kind of tingling or numbness in my arm, and my whole arm felt warm right up to the shoulder,” Dorothy Martin had said, describing the way she would receive the messages. “Without knowing why, I picked up a pencil and a pad that were lying on the table near my bed. My hand began to write in another handwriting. I looked at the handwriting and it was strangely familiar, but I knew it was not my own. I realized that somebody else was using my hand.”

After-the-fallout:

Dorothy Martin fled to Peru.  She lived there for several years, and spent time with the group “The Brotherhood of the Seven Rays”, founded by another channel and contactee, George Hunt Williamson.

She returned to the United States in 1961, and settled in Arizona. She had undergone a great amount of learning and transformation while in South America.  Her mentor Sananda was now no longer considered merely a member of an extra-terrestrial race from the planet Clarion.  Now known as Esu Sananda Kumara, or more specifically, Jesus Christ.

Dorothy Martin now called herself Sister Thedra, and in 1965 she founded “Association of Sananda and Sanat Kumara.”  She relocated to Mount Shasta in California, and continued to spread the messages that she was receiving from what she now called “the masters.”

In 1988, she moved the group once again to Sedona, Arizona.  They existed as a group of devotees awaiting messages from “masters” via the channel of Sister Thedra.  In 1992, Dorothy Martin passed away.  While no one has stepped up to replace her as channel,  the Association of Sananda and Sanat Kumara yet exists.  They can be contacted at the following address to receive their newsletter, Call to Arms.

Truman Bethurum

... But wait, there's more!

Dorothy Martin wasn't the only person in the 50's being contacted by the planet Clarion, so was a man by the name of Truman Bethurum.  He was visited eleven times by the visitors and   repeatedly conversed with its female captain, Aura Rhanes.  He recounted this experience in his book
Messages from the People of the Planet Clarion: The True Experiences of Truman Bethurum.

Today is the Druid festival of Alban Arthuan, or Arthur's Light.  It's the traditional birthday of King Arthur, and money and gifts are bestowed on the poor.  The Winter Solstice, or first day of winter (also known as Yule, Winter Rite, and Midwinter), is the time of new beginnings when pagans reflect on the past and formulate future plans.

Emma Goldman must be laughing in her grave!

At the end of 1919, two hundred and fifty "foreign undesirable" left the port of New York, forbidden ever to return to the United States.

Among those heading off into exile was the "highly dangerous foreigner" Emma Goldman, who had been arrested several times for opposing the draft, for promoting contraceptives, for organizing strikes and for other attacks on national security.

Some of Emma's sayings:

"Prostitution is the greatest triumph of Puritanism."

"Is there anything indeed more terrible, more criminal, than our glorified sacred function of motherhood?"

"Heaven must be an awfully dull place if the poor in spirit live there."

"If voting changed anything, it would be illegal."

"Every society has the criminals it deserves."

"All wars are wars among thieves who are too cowardly to fight, and therefor induce the young manhood of the whole world to do the fighting for them."

In 1971 on this day,  Stanley Kubrick's X-rated film "A Clockwork Orange" based on the book by Anthony Burgess and starring Malcolm McDowell premieres.

What's Jay have to say about Kubrick's film:

....Alex has an affinity for Beethoven, despite his predominate brutishness, which often plays over scenes of violence or sex, including rape. Alex and his "droogs" engage in "ultra-violence," and end up raping the wife of a liberal activist who opposes the state's draconian control measures.  Later, Alex attempts to rape a wealthy woman who lives in a country estate and is caught.  What we see here is a prophetic view of the future of man's world.  A globalized, 1984-style slum, where a few elites and intelligentsia live outside the urban areas. The intelligentsia like the writer and the behaviorist therapist seeking to cure Alex have a faulty view of human nature, and this is the key.  The film is full of sexual (and other bodily function elements) images which display the fact that most men are led about by their bodily desires, and contribute nothing to society.  The liberal activists and therapists continually try to make Alex a "productive" member of society and seek to influence him with religion and other salves.   However, the crucial point of the film is that Alex remains Alex.
