Kidnapped China, look at the hands!
I've been searching high and low for good news to share, and I'll tell you, it's hard. However, I found something.
Seems a Chinese girl escaped being kidnapped by giving the "OK" signal with her hands at an airport. This alerted people around her to talk with her and the kidnapper ran and she was returned to her parents.
Although I couldn't find the video, I did find this photo:
And so, if you see someone making this sign near you, introduce yourself. Ask them directions or something. The life you save could return the favor one day.
Really.

Finally, some good news for Mother Earth!
Finally, some good news for Mother Earth!
A Giant Pumice Stone Floating in the
Pacific could help heal the Great Barrier Reef
in Australia.
Keep Chanting, Meditating, or Praying for Earth's
Healing. It's happening!
The massive floating sheet of volcanic rock was first spotted by sailors on August 9, days after an underwater volcano is believed to have erupted near the Pacific Island of Tonga, according to NASA Earth Observatory.
The pumice, which is filled with holes and cavities, floats like an iceberg does, with about 90% underwater and 10% above water. The pumice is expected to drift with the current down to the Australian coast where scientist believe it could have a positive affect on the microorganisms there.
For those of us chanting, praying, and meditating for the healing of our planet, this is a good start.
Now go buy a Prius for the sake of god!

Chanting “Nam Myoho Renge Kyo”
Okay, so I chanted “Nam Myoho Renge Kyo” for the first time to see what all the fuss was about. And well, it was weird. Not being of the “chanting” ilk, it took me by surprise that it was so easy.
I had decided to go back out on the dating site, the free one, not to mention names, but it is, well, just “OK,” and rhymes with “OK Stupid.” In my profile I put that I am a “Buddhist,” and proud of it. Unfortunately, or fortunately as luck would have it, there were only three others Buddhist in my area. That’s right, three. And of those three, only one who attracted me and she was Japanese, and so I wrote, she wrote back, we went to dinner, and talked about our Buddhist faiths.
“I meditate at a Tibetan temple, but really like the writings of Dogen the most,” I said.
“I chant for things,” she said.
She told me she was involved with the SGI center and that they are an international organization.
That was the only time we met, and we have exchanged emails since, but she’s never available and so I took the hint and decided to take another break from internet-dating. But I had obtained this information on a different type of Buddhism and so, went to a meeting, got a book on it, and chanted “Nam Myoho, Renge, Kyo” for the first time. I didn’t know what to ask for and so I just asked for Happiness. That was yesterday morning. When I got to my recording job for the day and was about to put up the backdrop for the subject I was filming, I saw this picture on the wall:
Now, seeing the Japanese symbol for Happiness on the wall of an attorney’s office in McKinney Texas was weird, but really shouldn’t be given any significance, but when I got home that day and spoke to my daughter, she told me about this “cool” lady who came into the juice bar where she worked and told them about her Buddhist training and the power of “Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.” And then, when I sat down to look at my laptop, I had this tweet from Yoko Ono — who I’ve never noticed a tweet from ever, nor do I remember ever following her:
So, I’m not sure what it all means, but, well, I had a day-trip today in to Waco and found this Lotus Flower waiting for me:
Anyway, I’m not sure what it all means, but stay tuned, I’m chanting again today!

Thickle of Joint
I’m aging. No big deal. It is part of life: we are born, age, die, then do it again until we attain enlightenment. I have no doubts of this.
My joints ache.
This morning, I surprised the gods and woke up while they were still talking. Has that ever happen to you? You wake up and hear that voice that puts you to sleep and tells the stories of your dreams.
The voice said, “You are thickle of joint.”
It was an old-English voice this time.
Anyone know what “Thickle of Joint” means?
