The Day of Felicitas

October 9th is the Day of Felicitas.  A festival celebrating the ancient Roman goddess of luck and good fortune.  For many Wiccans and modern Witches, it is a day for casting spells and making amulets to attract good luck or to end a streak of bad luck.

The 109 asteroid discovered was named after the goddess of Felicitas and was discovered on this day in 1869.   It is approximately 76 kilometers in diameter and has an orbital period of 4.4 years.  When prominent in the natal chart, Felicitas indicates a person with a generally positive attitude.  Its location by sign and house position indicates potential sources of happiness.  When involved in many inharmonious aspects, Felicitas may show a person who is glad about the wrong things, or an unwisely optimistic person.
